GoldenEye is a first person shooter based on the movie GoldenEye. In the game, you play as James Bond and you go around several levels and complete mission objectives. This game is considered one of the best games ever made, especially because of the multiplayer.
The multiplayer in the game is considered to be the first FPS to have a good multiplayer set up and most modern multiplayer FPS's use this same set up. The game came out in 1997 and was very popular. The graphics are pretty good and the CPU's are very intelligent for such an old game. One of the reasons why the game is such a big deal is because the company that made the game (RARE-WARE) had never made a game like GoldenEye and most of the game's programers had never really made a video game before.
For an FPS, it is a very good game, and is just as fun as most modern FPS's. The game was going to be released for Xbox-Live Arcade, but they got into a bunch of legal issues with Nintendo, so they made released Perfect Dark instead. Nintendo released a version of GoldenEye, which is not a remake, but more of a retelling of the movie with Daniel Craig. The game was very fun and the campaign was awesome. The multiplayer was good too, until the hackers got up in there.
The game also has lag when playing multiplayer too. The best way to play the game is using a Wii-Remote and a Nunchuck, but you can use a Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro. When using the Wii-Remote and Nunchuck, you can lean arroud corners, which you can do using any of the other controllers. I give the Wii version of the game an 8/10, and same goes for the GoldenEye for Nintendo 64.
